PERDA High Technology Institute (PERDA-TECH) is a skill based institute which offers various skill based courses to SPM leavers. PERDA-TECH is in Bukit Panchor, Nibong Tebal, Seberang Perai Selatan, Pulau Pinang and started its operation in 1989. It was initially known as PERDA Training Centre.
On 16 December 2007, PERDA Training Centre was upgraded to PERDA High Technology Institute and its organization structure as well as the courses offered was restructured. As a licenced learning institute with The Ministry of Education, PERDA-TECH is also acknowledged as a Qualified Centre, Department of Skilled Development Ministry of Human Resource Development which allows it to issue Malaysian Skill Based Certificates (SKM). Besides, PERDA-TECH is in the process of applying the acknowledgement fromthe Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) for the courses it is offering.
PERDA-TECH is also offering twinning programme courses with Terengganu Advanced Technical Institute University College (TATiUC) for its diploma students and Penang Skill Development Centre (PSDC) for courses in general machinery.
Students’ intake is in July every year and the duration for each course is 21 months, or 4 semesters. At the end of the course, they will be given certificates. These students must go through a 3 month industrial programme in participating companies and agencies.

- Certificate in Engineering (Electrical)
- Certificate in Engineering (Automotive)
- Certificate in Engineering (Computer System)
- Certificate in Multimedia Designing
- Certificate in Engineering (Agriculture)
- Certificate in Fashion Designing
- Certificate in Manufacturing Engineering (Product Design)
- Certificate in Manufacturing & Engineering (Machining)
- Certificate in Manufacturing & Engineering (Tool & Die Design)
- Single Phase Wiring (PW2)
- Higher National Diploma (HND) Programme
- High Skilled Diploma
Students who have completed their PERDA-TECH programmes have the chance to further their studies at other higher institutions or to start work immediately as semi-skilled workers. At present, many of the PERDA-TECH graduates have had bright future working in various industries in Malaysia, especially in Penang.
